Alumni Events

Carroll School Alumni Council

It's Happening!

We are proud to launch the new Alumni Council, a volunteer leadership group dedicated to strengthening connections among alumni and deepening engagement with the school. Representing a wide range of class years and backgrounds, Council members will help shape alumni programming, support student–alumni connections, and serve as ambassadors for our community.

The Council is still in its inaugural formation, and we welcome additional alumni who are interested in serving. If you’re passionate about giving back, building community, and helping guide the alumni experience, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Mary McNulty for more information.

We look forward to the ideas, energy, and impact this new Council will bring in the year ahead.

Meet Our Co-Chairs

Eline Laurent ‘14 & Michael Finn-Henry '14

Eline Laurent '14 & Michael Finn-Henry '14

Eline and Michael share a passion for Carroll that has only deepened in the years since they graduated. Today, Eline is pursuing her PhD in School Psychology at the University of Washington, while Michael is completing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Harvard University, proof that their love of learning is still very much alive.

As if that weren’t impressive enough, both recently completed the 2025 Boston Marathon, logging many of their training miles on and around the Carroll Lincoln campus. It’s no wonder they’ve remained such close friends; their shared drive, curiosity, and connection to Carroll continue to shine through.

We are thrilled to have their energy and commitment on the Carroll Alumni Council. They will be an incredible asset to this inaugural group!

Paying It Forward: Dyslexic College Student Research Partnership

Stuart Heintz is a senior at Vassar, dyslexic, and the sister of Carroll alum, Casey ‘20. She is looking for all students with learning disabilities, but particularly those in the sciences to fill out this brief survey. The more responses she receives, the better and the more meaningful her results will be. You can help - and it’s easy!

Stuart has kindly offered to share her results in the spring. Our educators are looking forward to that!

Alumni Spotlights

Kerrington Sheriff '23

Division 1 State Soccer Champion

Kerrington Sheriff, a standout sophomore phenom at Natick High School, played a pivotal role in leading the Redhawks to the Division 1 State Soccer Championship.

One teammate praised her explosive skill, noting, “Her right foot is a rocket.”

Her coach echoed that sentiment, adding, “Kerrington is someone who listens, works, and does everything in her power to deliver exactly what we’re asking for.”

Ben Shepard MassCUE Featured Educator for December 2025

Ben Shepard '02

MassCUE Featured Educator for December 2025

Ben Shepard serves as the Targeted Cognitive Intervention (TCI) Curriculum Coordinator and is a member of the Data and Research team at Carroll School in Lincoln, Waltham, and Wayland, Massachusetts. He has the pleasure of working across Carroll’s Elementary, Middle, and Upper School divisions. In this role, Mr. Shepard coordinates research, data analysis, and the deployment of the school’s TCI program.

As an alumnus of Carroll (2002), Ben is fortunate to work at a school that has had such a profound impact on his life. While giving back to Carroll’s incredible community brings him great pride, his primary professional goal is to bring evidence-based teaching approaches beyond the school’s walls to have a positive impact on education as a whole. He has learned that conducting research and curriculum development within a school environment like Carroll is challenging, requiring collaboration, dedication, and significant flexibility to iterate on ideas, strategies, and pedagogy to find successful outcomes. Through this work, it has become clear to him that in education, one size does not fit all, and he hopes to contribute to a better understanding of what works for whom.

Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 List for 2026 in the Retail and E-Commerce Category

From Bryan's LinkedIn Post:

A surreal moment . . . This was one of those goals quietly sitting on the vision board, and I’m incredibly excited it finally became real. I’m honored to share that I’ve been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2026 in the Retail & E-Commerce category. This crazy journey has taken me from learning manufacturing from scratch to watching a simple high school project grow into a product now used by millions across the country.

Thank you to everyone who has helped Little ELF Products, Inc. along the way. Little ELF's success and thus this recognition is the result of everyone pushing, learning, building, and continuing to set the bar higher.

Here's to dreaming big because why not!! Thank you Forbes for this honor! Being recognized alongside of such an incredible group is something I’ll never take for granted.

Emi Suzuki's Story of Giving Back to Carroll

Carroll School 4th grader Emiko (Emi) Suzuki has lots of interests: she plays soccer, she is learning the piano, and she recently started her own business.

Like many Carroll students, Emi loves fidgets – especially slime. Fidgets help her focus and are one of the strategies she has learned at Carroll to make school easier. After learning how to make slime from her babysitter, Emi and a friend launched Gummy Drops, a slime business created with neurodivergent kids in mind.

With help from her mom, Emi developed a business plan and applied to be a vendor at the Belmont Farmers' Market. The Committee was so impressed with Emi’s plan that they built an entire program around it: the Mini Market Makers Day, where kids from ages 8-12 were invited to become vendors.

On October 9, Emi and her business partner set up at the Farmers’ Market to sell slime at the event that Emi inspired.

One of their customers was Stephanie Crement, Carroll’s Lower School Assistant Division Head:

It was so amazing to support Emi's business, and it was impressive to see her marketing materials and to watch her confidently interact with customers. This is exactly what we hope for at Carroll: to empower students to utilize their skills, tools, creativity, and confidence out in the world!  It was such a joy to witness!

Emi chose to donate the proceeds from her market day to Carroll School because of everything that being at Carroll has done for her — connecting her to amazing friends, equipping her with learning strategies, and helping her explore her passions.

Emi’s story is a reminder of how our community is defined by generosity and gratitude. We hope you will follow in Emi’s example and consider a gift to The Carroll Fund.
