I recently in the Fall of 2024, moved 30 minutes from my parents home. In order to serve with the Americorps Program as a Reading Corps Literacy Tutor for students in an elementary school for 10 months in Washington State. Where I live now. I am changing students' lives one day at a time using my own Orton-Gillingham knowledge to assist students who are tier 2. They are just below grade level in reading. I realize that the Reading Corps Program needs some supplemental activities to help the students improve their skills. Such as realizing that the assessment says, they should know most of the diphthongs, but they do not learn it. So almost everyday I drilled them with some diphthong they should know like Sh, Ch, and Th. The second graders use a hands - on and visual approach to learning different sounds whereas auditory learning from the program does not work for every learner.

Since, Americorps requires so much service hours. I volunteer most Saturdays with my local Humane Society to earn additional hours that I can use for Americorps requirements of 17000 hours in 10 months. I enjoy serving the Pet Food Pantry part of the Humane Society.

After years of working in Information Technology in Education for public schools, I am finally back here at Carroll School, working as the IT Support Specialist! I am married and have 4 children. I still keep in touch with a few Carroll alumni from my time here back in the 90s. When I'm not fixing computers I write creatively, and create Lego designs that can be seen on both YouTube and Twitch.

I started training as a pre-professional trainee with the Conservatory at Northeast School of Ballet and attending Dwight Global for school and that has been a great match for me. I was accepted to train at the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Summer Intensive in Seattle, WA this summer and will be there for five weeks later this year. I will also get to train for one week at the Chautauqua Summer Dance Workshop in western NY this summer.
