Bounders Trip

Grade 7 - Mooselookmeguntic Lake Canoe Trip (June 5-8, 2019)

NOTE: This trip is full! Please email Scott Fairley to be placed on a waitlist.

Mooselookmeguntic Lake Canoe Trip (for 7th graders only)
Wednesday, June 5 through Saturday, June 8
Max: 14
Fee: $260
Drop-Off: Wednesday, June 5 at 8:15 am (Students will go straight to Bounders instead of regular homeroom and classes)
Pick-Up: Saturday, June 8 at 5:00 pm on Lincoln campus

This is the trip for seventh graders who are ready for the next level of Bounders trips! Our crew will venture to western Maine where we will set-up basecamp at a beautiful site on the eastern shores of Mooselookmeguntic Lake. (This is a more remote location than students experienced on our 6th-grade trip). In this wild setting, students will continue to develop outdoor skills that can’t necessarily be taught in a Bounders Class such as paddling a canoe, fishing, sleeping comfortably outside, and being helpful in camp.  As always, we will have plenty of opportunities for camp cooking, fire building, nature exploration, and play.  We’ll camp near our vehicles on the first night and, if the wind and weather allow, we’ll load our canoes and paddle out to an island campsite for the second and third night.

Important Info & Dates

  • Students who sign up for this trip will be missing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, classes
  • Students who sign up for this trip will have trip related meetings during whole school flex clubs on  5/13, 5/17, 5/20, 5/23, 5/31
  • Please sign up by May 17, 2017 and deliver any trip medications to the nurse, by June 3rd

Participants will be expected to:

  • Earn the support of teachers, advisor and counselors by being in adequate academic and behavioral standing prior to the trip
  • Prepare for and make up missed work

Special Bounders Friday Programs

Outdoor Rock Climbing Full On Friday - May 17

Outdoor Rock Climbing Full On Friday
Friday May 17, 2019
12:00 - 7:30 pm (pick-up in Lincoln)
Who: Middle School students only
Max: 12
Fee: $90

Bounders takes students to a local crag called Crow Hill, in Leominster State Park, a 45-minute drive west of Carroll. Weather permitting, we will drive to this climbing cliff and students will spend the afternoon learning how to climb real rock routes. When not climbing, students will have the option to belay, hammock and explore. Picnic dinner is included.

With poor weather conditions, we have two options: One is to stay on campus with the opportunity to practice rappelling on our climbing tower and/or climb in our gymnasium on our authentic granite climbing routes OR Option Two will be visiting a local Indoor Rock Climbing Gym.

This Friday Trip is an ideal opportunity for students who enjoy climbing in Bounders Woods and are ready for the next level up.

*Pick-up time at 7:30 pm, Lincoln Campus

Please Note -- There are no Friday Programs during vacation weeks and on March 29, April 12, May 10, and May 24.
