Middle/Upper School After School Programs

The Middle & Upper School After School programs offer a diverse array of activities that explore the many interest of Carroll students and provide opportunities for socialization with friends, exercise, study, play, and creative endeavors. We offer three programs:

Mon-Thu After School Program: Meets Monday through Thursday, 3:15 to 4:45 pm, 3 sessions, Sign-up is per session
Friday Programs: Meets Friday on (most) early release Fridays until 3:30 pm, Sign-up is per activity
Athletics: 3 Seasons, Sign-up is per sport, Go to our Athletics page for more information

Daily Drop-in: For families who need occasional after school for their child in a pinch, we offer a daily drop in option for $25.00. Please note, this is subject to availability. Please contact Alyssa DiPaolo at adipaolo@carrollschool.org. Once your child is confirmed in a program, please also complete the Change in Daily Pick-up Form which will alert advisors/faculty to the change.

Late Pick-up: We realize that every attempt is made to pick up students on time. However, on a rare occasion should a ride home run late for Middle/Upper School students, there is a fee for picking up your child after 5 pm. Families will be charged $35.00 for pick ups that occur between 5 and 5:30pm and $60.00 for any pick up that occurs after 5:30.

How to Enroll in MS/US After School Programs

Interest Form for Spring 2026 opens on January 15, 2026. An email will be sent to parents/caregivers. And email will be sent to parents with the link and it'll be included in Thursday Update.

Complete Interest Form

Step 1

January 15-22, 2026

Families complete the Middle/Upper School Interest Form indicating program preferences per student. The form will be emailed to parents on January 15th and will be included in Thursday Update.

NEW! You will need to input your student's ID onto the form. Here are instructions for how to find your student LASID.
Completion of the Interest Form does not guarantee placement into high-demand programs. We will do our best to place every student.
Please only choose options you are interested in because, once selected for a program, there are no refunds.

January 22 and Later

The form will be closed, with instructions to email program coordinators to join the list. If capacity has been reached, students will be placed on the waitlist.

Mon-Thu After School Programs

Our After School program is designed to provide a variety of engaging and fun activities, including art, Bounders, pottery, and supervised study activities.

Supervised Study is intended to be a place where students can go after school to have a quiet environment in which to complete homework and be able to receive assistance when requested or needed. Students are expected to:

Demonstrate respect toward the entire supervised study group

Bounders (Mon & Wed)

This program is designed for students who want to spend more time in the Bounders Woods working and playing in a natural and non-competitive environment. Students can follow their path of interest, whether it’s fire building, bushcraft, shelter building, and/or the ropes course. This is a fun time for our students who want to continue honing their Bounders' skills and craft.

The Science of Food (Wed)

Meets Wednesdays
Fee: $171
Max: 10 students
Upper School students will be transported to Lincoln after school

Do you enjoy talking about food, eating food, or thinking about the value of food? Join the Science of Food club. We will create delicious snacks while discussing their nutritional value and considering what you need to prepare them. At the end of every meeting, you will have a snack to eat, as well as a recipe and nutritional information to make it again at home on your own.

Craft Club (Wed & Thur)

Movie Club (Mon & Tue)

Love movies? Join us after school to watch, discuss, and enjoy great films together! Each week, we’ll screen a different movie—ranging from animated classics and comedies to inspiring stories and thought-provoking adventures. After watching, we’ll chat about what makes each movie special—like storytelling, characters, cinematography, and soundtracks. Movie Club is the perfect way to relax with friends, share your opinions, and maybe discover a new favorite film!

Pottery (Tue & Thu, pick-up in Wayland)

Meets Tuesdays & Thursdays

Make fun and functional art projects. We will learn techniques like how to use the potter's wheel (called wheelthrowing), how to make mugs or bowls out of coils, how to sculpt with clay (called handbuilding), and how to glaze our projects. From mini sculptures to bowls you can actually use for food, there are so many creative projects to try. Open to Middle and Upper School students.

Winter Musical (varied days and times)

The annual musical is an extraordinary opportunity for your young actor to come take part in a unique moment in Carroll's school year! Carroll Performing Arts prides itself on creating a comfortable, fun, supportive ensemble environment where all young actors can develop their skills, build confidence and thrive!

Carroll Performing Arts welcomes seasoned performers and stage novices alike, and all registered actors are guaranteed a role in the show.

Note: Availability for the final Friday (1/30) and tech/performance week (2/2 - 2/5) are mandatory in order to participate in the show.

Performances

Stage/Tech Crew

Students who are interested in tech/backstage do not need to formally sign up for the program. Interested students can talk to Adam Brooks directly or by email. Adam will keep a list of potential tech students. Once needs are assessed (typically a couple of weeks before showtime), Adam will reach out to interested students about joining the tech/stage crew, based on needs and availability.

Friday Programs

Friday Programs are fun activities and field trips available for students on most early release Fridays.

Middle School Students: Pick-up is at the Middle School at 3:30 PM
Upper School Students: Students will be transported to the Middle School at the end of the school day and pick-up is at the Middle School at 3:30 PM
Please pack a lunch for your child and plenty to drink
