In October, we celebrated our 44th Fall Festival! The mere mention of Fall Festival typically conjures memories of running around campus with friends, engaging in fun activities, and eating a variety of delicious food. But did you ever wonder what it takes to pull off this monumental event? Discover some fun facts about Fall Festival!

As part of our commitment to expanding awareness of dyslexia and learning differences, Carroll School is proud to be a founding school of a new education organization focused on collaborating and advocating for students with learning differences. The Association of LD Schools (ALDS) is a new non-profit, private school organization including over 50 founding schools across the country and in Canada that serve students with learning differences.

Meaghan Kilian joins Carroll School this week as Executive Director of Advancement. We sat down with Meaghan to learn more about her, why growing a culture of giving is important to the school, and more.

I am thrilled to extend my warm greetings to the Carroll Community in my new role as the Lower School Division Head. It is with great humility and honor that I have been selected to lead the wonderful students, staff, and parents at Carroll. My primary goal is to foster an inclusive and vibrant learning environment that caters to students with language-based learning differences, as well as the dedicated teachers and staff who support them. It is with deep gratitude that Carroll School celebrates the receipt of a historic gift to our endowment from the Watts family. This generous contribution will open the door to more students who need financial support to access Carroll’s transformative education.

To the untrained eye, daily Bounders' activities appear simple enough: Groups of kids playing in the woods. But to any Carroll student who has passed through the school’s four-and-a-half acres of forest—affectionately known as Bounders Woods—the experience is far more meaningful, at times, even revelatory.

Within the Bounders Woods on the Middle School campus, there exists a yurt housing a special plaque. This plaque, crafted from a tree stump, bears the names of Nathaniel Ross ‘19 and his younger brother, Calem Ross. Both siblings, with Nathaniel as an alumnus and Calem as a current 8th grader, have achieved the esteemed title of Fire Master.

At 3,500 strong and growing each year, our alumni family is a prestigious group whose post-Carroll journeys have taken diverse paths. Lucky for Carroll, they are eager to give back by sharing their experiences. This year, we hosted twelve alums on Alumni Panels following Parent Visiting Days.
