Tuition & Financial Assistance

The Clarity Application helps determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information provided, including assets, income, expenses, and debts. Please note all awards are subject to availability of funds.

Please go to the Clarity Application and create an account to begin the process. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete and is mobile-friendly. In addition, Clarity offers comprehensive customer service.

There is a $60 application fee. If this fee represents a financial burden, please contact us at financialassistance@carrollschool.org.

For Clarity Customer Care, in-app support is available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, and email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752 in both English and Spanish. The application itself is available in Spanish and English.

• How does Clarity make it easier for me to apply for financial aid?
  Clarity offers a streamlined, mobile-friendly application that can typically be completed in under 30 minutes. Clarity removes the need to upload your 2023 W2 and 1040 by transferring them directly from the IRS.
   
• Is my information secure with Clarity?
  Carroll School takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. For more information, please refer to Clarity’s Privacy Policy.
   
• How will this impact my award?
  As in prior years, if your financial circumstances have stayed the same, you will not see significant changes to your award. If you have any questions about your circumstances, please contact us at financialassistance@carrollschool.org.
   
• Will I still need to apply every year?
  Yes, you must submit a Clarity application each year to be considered for financial aid; however, Clarity retains your information from previous applications, so reapplying will be even easier.
   
• Can I complete my Clarity application on my phone or tablet?
  Yes! Clarity’s application is mobile-friendly.

While not required, we strongly encourage you to consider purchasing tuition insurance to protect your investment. The cost for 2024-25 is 1.4% of tuition and the coverage is 60% for all types of covered losses. Please see the Tuition Insurance brochure for more information about coverage.

The Internal Revenue Service, under Section 1.213-1 (e) (v) (a), has determined that expenses incurred as a result of educational, therapeutic intervention in specialized schools for children with learning disabilities are medical expenses and can be deductible under the law.
