APPLICATION PROCESS
Admission to Summer@Carroll is by application. We carefully screen applicants to determine whether they can benefit from our programs. Our approach to remediation is cognitive in nature so potential students need to be at least in the average range of intellectual ability. Summer@Carroll is not designed to meet the needs of students with primary emotional or behavioral difficulties. Click here to download Summer@Carroll applications and forms.
We require a recommendation from the student’s current classroom teacher and tutor, if applicable. In some instances, we require a visit to our campus and a student interview. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.
Summer@Carroll admission is separate and distinct from admission to The Carroll School academic year program.
Application Dates
Admission is offered on a rolling basis. Prospective students are encouraged to apply in January and February because Summer@Carroll fills up quickly. Once a student is accepted into the program, a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required to reserve a spot.
Wait List Policy
When Summer@Carroll becomes full, we start to "wait list" students. By submitting an application, parents are giving the Summer@Carroll admissions team the opportunity to consider their student for admission. If accepted, the student will be wait listed until such time as an opening materializes. If no openings become available, wait listed students are eligible for "early registration" for the next year’s summer programs. In December, parents will receive a registration to be returned with a deposit to guarantee their child’s spot in Summer@Carroll. Parents need not apply again having been wait listed once. Applications are available on the Carroll School web site.
