VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The following is a list of events run by, or supported by, Carroll parent volunteers. Every event is an opportunity to get to know more Carroll families and b part of the Carroll community.

  • Fall Festival - This committee assists the athletic department with a morning of sports, arts, and activities.
  • School Pictures - Student photographs are taken early in the fall. Carroll hires professional photographers, and parent volunteers assist. Purchase of photographs is optional.
  • Library - Library volunteers provide on-going support to the library staff, as well as coordinate the Birthday Gift Book program.
  • Admission Open Houses - November 6th and January 29th: Middle School Open House 12-2 pm, Lower School Open House 2-4 pm. Parent volunteers needed!
  • Bingo Night - This is a fun night during the winter for Carroll families to have a night out playing Bingo in the gym.  Parents help organize and supervise this annual winter event.
  • Book Fair/Book Swap - These two successful yearly events provide the opportunity for the Carroll community to buy new books at the Book Fair held in the spring and swap used books with other readers at the end of the school year.
  • Special Visitors' Day - Parents assist with hospitality on "Special Visitors' Day" in the spring. This is a great way for grandparents and other adult friends of students to experience the magic of Carroll by attending classes.
  • Yearbook - Parents help the school in the selling of yearbooks and the layout of parent ads.
  • Faculty/ Staff Appreciation Luncheons - Twice a year parents honor the Carroll faculty and staff for all of their hard work. Parent volunteers supply the food and help with decorations, set up and serving lunch.
  • Grade Level Coordinators - GLCs coordinate social events for their grades, foster communication within the class and work as a liaison with the faculty if special projects are requested.
  • Parent Social Gatherings - Volunteers help plan and implement parent socials held throughout the year.
  • Hospitality - This committee helps provide baked goods and set-ups for Parents’ Association meetings and other functions.
  • Speaker Program - The PA offers a variety of in-house and nationally known speakers at each PA meeting. Most speakers address issues related to dyslexia and parenting children with learning differences. (See website for details)
  • Fundraising - Gift wrap sales, Box Tops for Education and the Carroll School Auction are all activities that fall under the Fundraising umbrella. For more information, see the Fundraising Activities page.
