In March, 50 parents participated in an evening at Carroll called, “What’s Next.” The goal of the evening was for parents to hear about the educational experiences and professional lives of several Carroll graduates. Five alumni captivated their audience with their honesty, achievements, and humor.
Each panelist stressed how Carroll taught them vital self-advocacy and organizational skills, and expressed that they owe so much of their success to groundwork that was laid at Carroll. They also honestly shared that they still struggle at times with projects that are easy for their non-dyslexic peers. At the same time, each speaker stressed that they have always found strategies, in college or in their careers, to help them work through their challenges.
The returning alumni have a variety of careers: Jeremy Macdonald has pursued entrepreneurial careers in venture capital and as a strategic planning consultant; Tay Evans is a marine biologist with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries searching for ways to improve the environment of the oceans; Meghan Foucher is a social worker working the Children’s Action Corp helping struggling children; Cara DeRosa is a second grade teacher in the Lawrence Public Schools; and Rob Flynn is a principal at an insurance and benefits consulting company.
Carroll is proud to feature Tay Evans in our new ad.
