5th and 6th Graders' Winter Overnight Adventure

Six 6th grade students and seven 5th grade students ventured north into the New Hampshire wilderness with snowshoes and backpacks. They stayed for two nights in a cabin heated by wood and lit by traditional kerosene lanterns. Everyone donned x-country skiis for a day and quickly picked-up the art of gliding up and down tracked slopes with smiles and gusto. At night, they feasted on cheese quesadillas and freshly baked brownies and shared high spirits. This winter wilderness trip was an adventure to remember!
