Homecoming and Continuum Fun

On the day before Thanksgiving, more than 100 alumni and 40 past parents returned to Carroll for the morning. The young alumni gathered in the gym, were greeted by their peers and faculty, and joined by Carroll’s 7th and 8th grade students. The alumni watched movies of Carroll sporting events, a Bounders trip to Zion National Park, and looked through yearbooks from past years.

Twelve young alumni—who attend either a local public school, a vocational school, an independent day school or a boarding school—gathered to talk with 8th grade students about their new school experiences. In addition, a group of alumni ranging from 6th grade students to college freshman, met with 5th grade students and their teachers to share their different experiences in schools after Carroll.

Parents of alumni gathered during the Continuum to share stories and learn news about our recent purchase of the new campus in Waltham and the geno/ pheno type project Carroll is participating in with scientists from Yale and Tufts who are collecting DNA to further identify the causes of dyslexia.
