Carroll Math Summer Seminar

“Everything you do in mathematics should make sense to you.” J. Greenwood

Carroll hosted thirty math educators from around the country for a five day seminar on how to teach math effectively to bright students with language-based learning difficulties, such as dyslexia. The fundamental “take home message” was: use the students' strong thinking skills to make sense of numbers, help them master computation, and make math learning an enjoyable challenge.

The Carroll Math approach is a set of beliefs, behaviors, skills, and materials collected from the best available evidence of what works for children with language-based learning difficulties.
