"Breaking Through", Changing The World One School At A Time!
The "Breaking Through" Players have had a busy and successful May! The cast performed their final touring show at the Pollard Middle School in Needham. A full house of attentive 6th graders enjoyed the musical immensely clapping along to many of the musical numbers. At the end of the show loyal fans gathered in front of the stage for autographs, which the "Breaking Through" Players happily provided. One week later the cast gave their final two performances for the 2008-2009 academic year. One performance, which received a standing ovation, was in the evening at Carroll, and the last performance was an in-school show for Carroll students who were riveted as they watched the story unfold.
You may be wondering…how many people have seen "Breaking Through" over the past two years?
More than 8,000 people!! "Breaking Through" is proving to be one of Carroll's most influential outreach programs ever. Some schools have adopted "Breaking Through" as part of their core curriculum; others are designing health education instruction around our program. A "Breaking Through" DVD is available through the Carroll Center for Innovative Education.
A new "Breaking Through" cast is already in the wings preparing to tour in 2009-2010. Look out Boston area schools, we will soon be coming to a school near you!
