Carroll School is launching a teacher training program in cognitive development. Participants will receive training with Dr. David Stevens, a developmental psychologist with a focus on cognitive skills and their relationship to learning. The program will include intensive introductory training in September, weekly training classes throughout the school year, and direct daily instruction with Carroll School students. Dr. Stevens will offer model lessons and provide supervision throughout the program. The goal of the program is to train 3-5 teachers to work with students on a variety of essential, foundational cognitive skills that support educational success for children with learning disabilities. The activities are centered on development of visual and kinesthetic thinking.
The program is tuition-free and, in exchange, the tutorial work with Carroll students is without compensation. Inquiries should be directed to: Steve Wilkins, Head of School (781)-259-8342 or swilkins@carrollschool.org
