Carroll's Town Meeting -- February 3, 2009
Steve Wilkins, Head of School, and Bill Copacino, Chair of Carroll’s Board of Trustees, led a Town Meeting for the Carroll community on February 3rd. The topic was “How does this current economic climate affect our students’ education”?
To begin Steve highlighted the programmatic enhancements that the School has added over the past two years. The highlights include the new Carroll Math program, the Strategic Learners initiative, the Data Informed Teaching approach, the “Spark” early morning exercise program, enrichments to the tutoring program, and the advancements in educational technology at Carroll.
Steve also carefully reviewed the budget items that constitute the primary revenue and the major expenses for the School.
The principal components on the
revenue side are:
- Tuition 91%
- Annual Fund donations 5.8%
- Center/ GIFTT 1.2%
- Interest & Dividends from the
School’s endowment 2.0%

- Personnel 82.1%
- Facilities 5.6%
- Depreciation 4.0%
- Academic Programs 3.2%
- Non-Academic Programs 5.1%
