Carroll Faculty Stuns Trustees

Carroll Trustees had an opportunity to observe Carroll Teachers talking about their students on Friday, October 24th. During the afternoon of the Trustees’ Retreat, trustees simply buzzed with questions about how the faculty became so skilled at this work. "If parents understood the depth of these student analyses, it would shock them," one parent/trustee commented. Trustees were awed by the expertise of the faculty in combining their knowledge of a student with the data accumulated about a student through psycho-educational testing, standardized testing, and Carroll’s annual assessments. Teachers were engaged in case conferences, utilizing the skills they have been learning and refining due to Dr. Isabel Phillips’ professional training entitled, "Data Inspired Instruction." Each conference ends with an action plan in which the data inform our teaching. This level of expertise is essential to provide the best instruction possible for each Carroll School student.
