Soccer Action This Week

Monday - In an exciting soccer match between two very evenly matched teams, Carroll Girls "B" and Cambridge Friends School played to a 3-3 tie. Both squads played well, capitalizing on the few scoring opportunities that the defenses allowed.

Tuesday - The Carroll Boys "A" team hosted Shady Hill on a very rainy day for soccer. In spite of the wet conditions, both teams had early scoring chances. Shady Hill took advantage of a Carroll defensive breakdown to score on a breakaway. After that early goal, Carroll tightened up it's midfield play. Carroll was able to put pressure on the Shady Hill defense, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the victory.

Wednesday
- Playing what Coach K called "the best game of the year", Carroll Girls "A" outscored Rashi in a very competitive soccer match. Rashi jumped out to an early lead but Carroll rallied for the victory against a well-coached Rashi squad.

Carroll Girls "B" was shut out by a very talented Nashoba team in a road game on Wednesday. In spite of Nashoba's territorial advantage throughout the game, Coach Mamet reports that Carroll never ceased its energetic style of play.

Thursday - Having difficulty controlling the ball, the Carroll Boys "B" team found itself trailing Belmont Day in a soccer match played at Carroll. In the second half, Carroll's midfield controlled and passed the ball better to the Carroll forwards resulting in two goals. However, in the end, Carroll lost 5-2 to their very athletic opponents.
