MIDDLE SCHOOL EXPANSION

The Carroll School is expanding middle school enrollment to meet the increased demand for our customized education. Carroll’s Middle School curriculum emphasizes academic independence and strategic thinking, and utilizing small class sizes (with a maximum of eight students per class) and three language classes per day to optimize our students’ strengths and address their academic weaknesses.

All Middle School students will also be engaged in extracurricular programs including Bounders, gym, performing arts, visual arts, woodshop, and movement/ yoga classes. Many after school programs are available as well.

In addition to increasing the available spots for new students in our Middle School program, Carroll will be adding a new ninth grade program. The ninth grade program is a high school program designed for students who:

• plan to attend a college preparatory school;
• are well remediated in decoding, phonological processing, and reading;
• have executive functioning challenges and a need for explicit and direct writing instruction.
