VISUAL ARTS OVERVIEW
The visual arts program works to develop students' confidence in their creative expression by building skills and teaching techniques in a variety of media. Emphasis is given to creative problem solving, art history and experimentation. The art projects are integrated with the subjects studied in academic programs.
The students work in a wide range of artistic mediums including painting (tempera, acrylic, watercolors and oils), printmaking (mono-printing, linoleum cut, screen printing and foam board), sculpture (armature building, plastina, wax, plaster craft and papier-mache), clay (potter’s wheel and hand-building), drawing (observational and imaginary with charcoal, pencil, oil pastel, and pastel), stain glass and basic jewelry. |
