PERFORMING ARTS
The Performing Arts program teaches students the elements of musical play production while building leadership abilities, strengthening positive dynamics, and enhancing communication skills in a multi-sensory manner. Students learn performing techniques that include singing, dancing, scripted acting and improvisation, instrument playing, as well as an introduction to technical theater and stage craft. The courses also include the history of theater, dance and music arts, song writing, constructive and comparative criticism in the arts through live and taped performances, the integration of the arts curriculum into other academic areas, and the incorporation of art-related computer programs into the classroom. In essence, the school's Performing Arts program instills each child with a sense of confidence, encourages self expression, creative risk taking, and active learning while developing an appreciation for the performing arts.
