THE EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

The Extended Day is a fee-based after-school program which offers opportunities for students to become involved and active in school life outside the classroom. The program runs Monday through Thursday from school closing to 4:45 p.m. Students participate in a variety of activities appropriate to their age group that expose them to new experiences and provide opportunities to pursue interests with classmates. Led by teachers, the program encourages the development of leadership skill, teamwork, risk taking, and school spirit.

Activities for Extended Day are varied, and may consist of the following: art, Music, Bounders, computer games, dory building, gym games, typing, karate, woodworking, and tennis. There is a supervised study hall offered each afternoon as well.

Interscholastic sports are available for all Middle School students in Soccer, Field Hockey, Cross Country, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse and Track and Field. The school's policy is one which allows everyone who is interested to play. There are no team tryouts or "cuts." These teams play against other schools such as Applewild, Brimmer & May, Cambridge Friends School, Nashoba Brooks, Fenn School, Fessenden School, Hillside School, Landmark School, Learning Center, Meadowbrook, Waldorf of Lexington, Charles River School, Park School, Shady Hill School, Rashi, Weston Middle School and Belmont Day.
