Math/Cognitive Development Academic Support

 

 

School Overview:

Carroll School is a dynamic independent day school for elementary and middle school students who have been diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia.

 

 

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Lower School Math Specialist, Cognitive Development Specialist and Lower School Division Head and provides academic support for math instruction.  This academic support position will be trained by the Cognitive Development and Math Specialist, will complete symphony math program, and will participate in year-long cognitive development discussions on Fridays.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Symphony Math (computerized program) support to grades 2-4 and run the math computer lab
  • Provide math instruction in small groups
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers on student progress, lesson planning and specific instructional needs etc.
  • Write quarterly reports and attend parent conferences as needed
  • Participate in year-long cognitive development discussions on Fridays

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Massachusetts licensure by  the DOE preferred
  • Have the ability to teach using multi-sensory education methods
  • Flexible and willing to learn
